Biokar TBX Agar 100 grams BK146HM
Biokar TBX Agar 100 grams BK146HM is a selective and differential agar medium used for the isolation and differentiation of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBC) and other mycobacteria. It contains antimicrobial agents that inhibit the growth of most bacteria and fungi, allowing the growth of mycobacteria. This medium is supplemented with sodium pyruvate and ferric ammonium citrate to enhance mycobacterial growth. It also includes malachite green, which inhibits the growth of fast-growing mycobacteria. Mycobacteria that can grow on TBX Agar produce visible colonies within 7-14 days, which can be differentiated based on their growth characteristics.
Benefits/Advantages:
• Ensures specific isolation of MTBC and other mycobacteria.
• Provides clear differentiation of colonies based on growth characteristics.
• Includes antimicrobial agents to prevent contamination.
• Supplemented with growth-enhancing components for optimal mycobacterial growth.
